Gingerbread Teddies by Rosemary Goodman

The Artist ... A Proud Kiwi !

I was born in Timaru, New Zealand and grew up and attended school there, until I graduated from Christchurch Kindergarten College in 1974. In 1982 I came to Canada for work and pleasure and it was here that I met and eventually married my husband Allan. As an added benefit, I now have a wonderful step-son Zachary. Since that time we have travelled back to New Zealand every couple of years. It is our goal to eventually retire there.

I have always been interested in teddies and about 9 years ago I began to make them. Each of my teddies is somewhat unique, and it's for this reason that most of my creations are one of a kind, although I occasionaly will do limited editions. It's at the teddy bear shows that I have met so many wonderful collectors and artists and have really grown to love my craft.

Over the past two years we have added two new additions to our family - in the form of Sadie and Rosa - our wonderful Cairn Terriers. They have incredible personalities and have added a lot of joy to our lives. If you look up the word "mischief" in the dictionary, I'm sure you will find a picture of our dogs.
